Compared to other countries in Europe, it shows that the salary in Hungary is not really attractive, but still at a good level (from 700-2500 USD/month depending on the job, depending on ability). The social, cultural, educational, medical environment… in Hungary is very good. Currently, it is easier to get a D visa for Hungarian workers than in other countries.
In terms of income:
In some neighboring countries of Hungary, people with residence papers & work permits and working in the right licensed place can receive a salary after tax of 1200-1800 Euro or more (for example: automobile assembly factories). Currently, it is very difficult to apply for a D visa for unskilled workers or skilled workers from Vietnam to directly enter these countries.
In some other European countries, people with residence papers & work permits and working in the right licensed place can receive a salary after tax of 2000-3000 Euro or more. Applying for a D visa for unskilled workers to these countries is currently very difficult, for skilled workers and those with work experience, it is easier to apply for a visa. The factor of having to know the language (at A1 or B2 level) is a big barrier when applying for a visa.
For workers without residence papers, or having residence papers in this country but going to another country to work without a work permit, the income can be many times higher (because they do not pay taxes to the state or do jobs that are not encouraged by law). These people will have to accept the risks associated with illegal residence or illegal work (being fined at various levels, no health insurance, unstable work sometimes on and sometimes off…).
In Hungary, legal workers doing manual labor will have a salary after tax ranging from 700-2500 USD depending on their ability, diligence and work. Legal skilled workers (tailors, TIG welders, pipe welders…) can receive a salary after tax ranging from 1000-2500 USD.
Considering the legal documents: there is a huge gap between those with legal residence papers and those without papers.
Those who live and work legally have an acceptable income, can stabilize their lives, bring their families to reunite, integrate into the life of Hungarians and move towards permanent settlement. Their lives are peaceful, comfortable, and they can easily travel within Europe or return to Vietnam to visit their families.
Undocumented people often try to make money as quickly as possible, regardless of the consequences. If they are caught, they will find ways to circumvent the law to the extent possible. If not, they will accept being deported back to Vietnam and be satisfied with the money they earn. Life is therefore often stressful. Traveling within Europe and returning to Vietnam to visit family will not be easy.
Considering the humane and causal factors:
The escape and illegal residence of a part of Vietnamese people will cause difficulties for those still in the country who want to apply for a D visa to work in Hungary in particular and Europe in general. The fact that European countries (Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, etc.) tighten visa issuance for Vietnamese people is an inevitable consequence of this problem. The first to do it, the next to suffer the consequences. Currently, Hungary is still open to granting work visas to Vietnamese people, but this door is gradually narrowing.
One person going to work abroad is the whole family benefiting. Many families and people have changed their lives thanks to labor export to Hungary. Hungary and all of Europe are seriously lacking in labor. The Vietnamese government supports labor export, and the Hungarian government does not prohibit Vietnamese people. To erase the negative rumors about Vietnamese people, we need a strong change in awareness and behavior from workers.
In short, Hungary will be a promised land for those who want to have a stable life and a long-term career for themselves and their families in the future. Those who are under pressure to make money quickly and do not have long-term intentions should consider. Vietnamese workers choosing to work in Hungary should pay attention to income factors, legal residence documents, and humane factors. Hungarian employers and labor brokerage company DC Handel Kft always hope and support Vietnamese workers to work under contracts, in compliance with Hungarian and European laws.
I wish you all the best in making the right decision.
DC Handel Kft only provides advice and information and does not work directly with Vietnamese workers. Workers can work directly with partner companies in Vietnam that have signed a cooperation contract with DC Handel Kft, supported by DC Handel Kft.
